New Cooking Classes and Food & Wine Pairing Coming Up

Gift a Quince cooking class this holiday season, or put it on your own wish list.

There are a couple of seats left in our Quince Christmas Dinner class coming up on Monday night (December 1).

Our culinary high priestess, Andrea Jefferson, is both a Chef and Sommelier. She's just partnered up with the very affable and knowledgeble Sommelier Matt Sherlock from Kits Wine Cellar to create a series of extravagant Food & Wine pairing events.
  • The first is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, The Tuscan Palate.
  • Next we have an Introduction to Food & Wine Pairing on Thursday, January 29 - understanding wines is one thing, but understanding the science and palate preferences behind the pairing of food and wines is another. Join us for this engaging, sometimes controversial, and always tasty class.
  • On Friday, February 27 we focus on The Alsace Region.

Along with our two part Nine Day Basics: Intensive Techniques for the Serious Amateur, starting February 10, we are also offering a number of one off basics classes:

  • The Cutting Edge: The Quince Essential Knife Class - offered Wednesday, February 25 & again on Tuesday, May 26.
  • The Quince Essential Sauce Class - offered Wednesday, March 18 & again on Tuesday, June 16.

For Valentine's Day we plan two very different events:

  • The Ultimate Chocolate Fondue is one of our shorter Saturday afternoon demonstration and tasting events.
  • The Culinary Seduction: Food for Lovers... of Food - bring your favourite person to this class where together you'll slice, sauté, sizzle and savour a decadent menu designed for culinary lovers.

With recipes included in Jill Lambert's hot off the press cookbook, A Good Catch: Sustainable Seafood Recipes From Canada's Top Chefs, Chef Andrea was inspired to create a cooking class with sustainable seafood in mind. She will co-hosting this class with Jill on Tuesday, March 25.
